chong wei can really stretch, won't his pants snap?
changing shuttles. lol
indonesia's player delivering a smash
slide! wow! don't fall!
today was the aviva open 2008 finals. matches were totally nice. denmark and indonesia are staying strong. but however, peter gade from denmark aka the tenth seed in order of the badminton world federation ranking (BWF) lost to world number 2 lee chong wei of malaysia. sad, sad, sad, but gade still rocks! i love his style. graceful, swift and light, like he was floating on air and I AM NOT EXAGGERATING but lee is also known for his speed, defense and attack strategies on the court. even world number 1 lin dan had suffered from his speed before. lee is able to fall down while getting a shuttle, but is also fast enough to recover in time for the next shuttle. that is one of his signature moves.
meanwhile, for women's singles, tine ramussen of denmark won, beating zhou mi of hong kong.( frankly, zhou mi looks a little like an elephant, but no offence.)
mixed doubles, nova widianto and liliyana natsir won, rounding up as defending champions world number 1, defeating england's donna kellogg and anthony clark.
women's doubles winners are du jing and yu yang, from china. they beat two candy striper-looking girls from taiwan. if i am not wrong, their names are chien yu chin and cheng wen hsing, world ranking number 5.
winner for mens doubles are malaysia. i don't really think it's considered a win, since it's malaysia vs malaysia. so, i really dunno hos to announce this. heheh
